Jumbangla Desk: The price of vegetables has been increasing by leaps and bounds for several weeks. Not only that, the price of green chillies is fluctuating from Tk 400 to Tk 600. Onion has to be bought at the rate of 110 to 115 taka per kg. The price of chicken and fish is already high. Common buyers are disappointed to see such a situation in the commodity market. In this reality, the government has started selling agricultural products at fair prices. Under the OMS program, 10 agricultural products are being handed over to the buyers at 650 rupees through truck sale.

Officially, these vegetables have been sold at fair prices in 20 places of the capital. The products include - 5 kg potato 150 taka, 1 dozen eggs 130 taka, 1 kg onion 70 taka. Besides, 1 kg of sweet pumpkin, bitter gourd, patol kachurmukhi and 100 grams of green chillies and 3 kg of papaya are priced at Tk 250 and 1 gourd at Tk 50. A total of 10 products are priced at Tk 650.

On Tuesday (October 15) at 12:15 in the afternoon, the program was inaugurated by Finance and Trade Advisor Dr. Saleh Uddin Ahmed. The special guest was Agriculture and Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retired) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
