Mirpur-10 metro rail station has reopened after nearly three months of vandalism during the anti-discrimination student movement. The repaired Mirpur-10 station was inaugurated on Tuesday (October 15) morning in the presence of Road Transport and Bridges Advisor Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan.

He said that the agitating students did not vandalize the metro station. Action will be taken against those who vandalized the station. The CCTV footage of the incident has been given to the IGP.

On Monday (October 14), Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Mohammad Abdur Rauf said, it has been made operational by using domestic resources without importing any equipment. Besides, some equipments have been replaced at three stations as the passenger pressure is relatively low.

After Kazipara and Mirpur-10 were damaged, it was said by the previous Awami government that it will take at least one year to start the two stations after maintenance, and it will cost about 3.5 billion taka. However, Kazipara metro station became operational not after one year, but after two months, followed by the busiest station Mirpur-10 after two months and 27 days.
