The court granted two-day remand to Abdur Razzak in the case of the murder of businessman Abdul Wadud in New Market of the capital. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Mahbubul Haque gave this remand order after the court hearing.

Earlier, former Minister of Agriculture and Awami League presidium member Dr. in the remand hearing. Md. I joined Awami League in pursuit of patriotism.


He also said that before independence, I held public meetings against the dictatorship of Ayub Khan. In 1969, I was the general secretary of the Agricultural University Chhatra League. In 1971, I not only participated but led the liberation war. My father died when I was 11 months old. My brother and I grew up in different houses. We were self dependent. Everyone in my family is settled in their place. I have nothing to do with the charges on which I was arrested. I know nothing about this. I want justice from the court.


Earlier, the investigating officer of the case, DB Police Inspector Jahangir, applied for a seven-day remand of the accused.

State's Dhaka Metropolitan Public Prosecutor Omar Farooq Farooqui heard in favor of remand. Hemayet Uddin Khan (Hiran) filed a bail application on behalf of Abdur Razzak seeking cancellation of remand.


After the hearing, the court remanded him for two days. DB Police arrested Abdur Razzak from Iskaton area of ​​the capital on Monday night around 8:30.

 

Businessman Abdul Wadud was shot dead by police in Neelkhet area under Newmarket police station during the anti-discrimination student movement. In this incident, his brother-in-law Abdur Rahman filed a murder case against 130 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.
