The protesters, including about 250 Palestinian medical students living in Cuba , were carrying a large banner reading 'Long live an independent Palestine'. The president and his aides wear traditional keffiyeh scarves during the procession.
Michelle Marino, a 20-year-old international relations student who attended the march, told AFP news agency, "We are here to support the Palestinian people for their legitimate demands and their sovereignty, their freedom and the genocidal crusade that Israel is practicing against the Palestinian people."
The march was supposed to take place on the anniversary of the brutal Hamas attack on Israel, but was postponed due to Hurricane Milton, which hit Cuba and Florida last week.
