Boy

The news of Shaheed Sabuj's success in the HSC examination instead of joy has brought sadness to the family, teachers and classmates. Shaheed Sabuj Mia is the son of Azhar Ali of village Ruparpara of Kharia Kazirchar Union of Srivardi Upazila.

On August 4, Sabuj Mia was martyred in the anti-discrimination student movement in Sherpur district town.

Sabuj's mother Shameja Khatun said, "If my son was alive today, he would have come to me first with the result." Everyone was happily fed sweets. Today everything is dark without my son. I haven't slept since my son died. Tension headache all the time. Green was a lotus flower in our cow dung, and was very good with everyone in the area. Every day he wrote poetry and read it to me. Now no one listens to me poetry. My son was very good in studies, he wanted to be a poet. I want justice for those who shot and killed my son.

Sabuj's mother is walking around with the result card. Meanwhile, Sabuj's sick father is sitting in front of the house waiting for Sabuj.

Mominul Islam, a student who went to the movement with Sabuj said, We go to the movement together from our village. Green was shot dead by miscreants. He got his results today but Green is not alive — it's very painful for me. If Green was alive today, he would be happy with everyone. I have lost a talented brother of our village. So sad, green died during HSC exam. We want justice for Green's killers, very quickly so that those responsible for Green's murder are arrested.

Professor AKM Alif Ullah Ahsan, Principal of Srivardi Government College said, Sabuj was a very good boy, he was always in touch with us. Child of very poor family. His father being ill, Green was the sole breadwinner in the family. The family ran a pharmacy in the area from childhood. Due to the death of Green in the student movement, the family has suffered a lot. We have tried to support Sabuj's family financially on behalf of our college. Green is our pride. Very good result, but green is not alive. We are deeply saddened by the death of Sabuj. If Sabuj was alive today, his family would have been very happy to see the results.
