Low pressure in Bay of Bengal, warning signals in ports

Apparent low pressure created in the Bay of Bengal

According to the weather forecast for the next 72 hours from 9 am on Wednesday (16 October), the distinct low pressure over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal is currently moving west-northwestwards and will intensify as a low pressure over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas. Doing so it may move further west-northwest. As a result of this, the Meteorological Office has asked all the seaports of the country to display remote warning signal number 1.

The weather forecast on Thursday (October 17) also said that there may be rain or thundershowers with gusty winds temporarily in two places of Khulna division. Apart from this, the weather may remain mainly dry. Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country.


The forecast also said that rain and thundershowers may occur temporarily at some places in Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions and at two places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions. Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country at this time.

According to the weather forecast on Friday (October 18), there may be rain in two places of Rangpur Rajshahi Mymensingh Dhaka Khulna Barisal Chittagong Sylhet division.

The extended five-day weather forecast said the trend of rain with thundershowers may decrease.
