Pradeep Kumar Das, the dismissed OC of Teknaf police station in Cox's Bazar, has been sentenced to death in the case of the murder of retired Army Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan. Even before the murder, Pradeep was in the news, criticized for one after another crossfire and harshness. The said police officer established a reign of fear in Teknaf. OC Pradeep is currently in prison with death sentence. It is known that no relatives are coming to see him.

It is known that OC Pradeep has been staying in Kashimpur High Security Central Jail in Gazipur for a long time. Inspector Liaquat Ali is also in the same jail. Initially, as per Jail Code, OC Pradeep used to get division benefits. However, after the verdict i.e. on January 31, 2022, Pradeep's division benefits were canceled as he was a convict who had been sentenced to death. Currently, OC Pradeep is staying among the general prisoners. Meanwhile, Pradeep's wife Chumki is trapped in protecting the corruption money. He is also in prison after being sentenced to 21 years in a corruption case.

Jail sources say that OC Pradeep and Inspector Liaqat Ali are spending days in jail with death sentence in mind. They spend most of their days lying down and sitting. But even after so many misdeeds, Pradeep is not repentant, although he has the fear that he will be hanged.

According to Kashimpur High Security Central Jail sources, OC Pradeep is in Kashimpur Jail. Currently he is not getting division benefits as he is a death row convict. OC Pradeep and Inspector Liaquat Ali are silent in the jail. They are spending time eating and drinking and sleeping.

An official of Kashimpur High Security Prison, who did not wish to be named, said that OC Pradeep is still hopeful that he will be acquitted if the final verdict of death is given. He sometimes laments to the prisoners who are with him, his fear is that he will be hanged in the last verdict of the court.
