Mohammadpur Thana police arrested him from Mohakhali DOHS area of the capital on Wednesday (October 16) night.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Muhammad Talebur Rahman of Media and Public Relations Department of DMP confirmed the arrest.
He said that the former mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Mohammad Atiqul Islam was arrested from the DOHS area of the capital.
On August 18, Khan Atiqul Islam went to the head office of Dhaka North City Corporation and was chased by the public. At that time he escaped through the back stairs of the city building.
