Jumbangla Desk: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started an investigation into corruption allegations against Awami League leader and former member of parliament from Jhalkathi-2 Amir Hossain Amu. It is alleged that Amu used to keep various ill-gotten gains in cash with himself and sleep on them by making jajim with bundles of new money. Besides, he used to accept boats made of gold as gifts on any occasion.

His Assistant Private Secretary Fakhrul Majid Kiran, who is Amur Bhaira and brother of former Industries Minister Nurul Majid Humayun, assisted in these transactions. Apart from this, ACC's preliminary investigation revealed that Amur has movable and immovable assets worth about Tk 20 crore.

According to ACC sources, crores of rupees and dollars and euros were found in his Jhalkathi house, some of which were partially burnt. Similarly, huge amount of money was found in houses in Moghbazar and Barisal cities.

Amir Hossain Amu's search and further investigations into his assets are ongoing.
