Through various meetings, marches or campaigns, they try to cancel that effort. Meetings are held with the leaders of the US Parliament building on Capitol Hill. The group stops only when the interest is achieved. In other words, they act as a shield for India and Modi at the policy-making level of America. Although the organization claims to be a charitable organization.

According to an Al Jazeera investigative report, one Wednesday morning in September 2022, a lobbyist approached a congressman in Washington. His goal is to arrange a meeting on behalf of the client. Topics of discussion will include some human rights issues in Pakistan and a recently introduced resolution in the US House of Representatives on religious minorities in India.

The meeting was held a few weeks later. There, the client lobbied for a ban on the sale of F-16 fighter jet equipment to Pakistan on the pretext of alleged persecution of the Hindu minority.

But that client is not a foreign government or a defense policy think tank. It is a non-profit organization in the United States. The name is Hindu American Foundation.

The American official was shocked to receive such a proposal from the Hindu American Foundation. He was already familiar with this foundation. He knew that he worked to protect the rights of Hindus in the United States. But he didn't expect it to be so deeply involved in geopolitics.

At that time, the Indian government also openly opposed the $450 million F-16 contract to Pakistan. The Indian Defense Minister conveyed their concerns to the US Defense Secretary. For this, the Indian foreign minister publicly criticized the US government.

The American worker said, "At that moment it became clear to me that the Hindu American Foundation was working on behalf of the Indian government."

The Hindu American Foundation emerged as the voice of the Hindu community in the United States two decades ago. But it was not formed to protect the interests of the Government of India. But when Modi came to power in India in 2014, the scenario started to change. Since then, the organization has intensified its political activities on behalf of the BJP Government of India.

Over time, the Hindu American Foundation became an effective mouthpiece of the BJP in the United States. Although the organization claims to be neutral. Engaged in trying to influence the US government's India policy by meeting with members of Congress.

The Hindu American Foundation maintains warm relations with the Modi government at this time. Repression of critics of the Modi government in the United States, cooperation with the Indian embassy in various events and programs, and communication with the embassy on sensitive issues.

However, in spite of doing so much, in public, the organization is demanding to stay away from the Indian government and the BJP. India has strongly denied the allegations of lobbying. They claim that the members of the organization are only Hindus engaged in the US political process. It termed any allegation of collusion with the Indian government as a slander of dual loyalty.
