Abdul Jabbar said, during the operation, it was found that Rifat Enterprise Diamond Egg, the company, was selling eggs bought at the rate of 11 taka at the rate of 15 taka. They are not even saving cash memos for buying and selling eggs. No price list has been displayed in the establishment either. For these offences, the company was fined Rs 1 lakh under the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009.
The Department has informed that on Wednesday, the market of the Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection with a special task force to keep the price of daily necessities including vegetables, eggs, broiler chicken, potatoes, pulses, onions, garlic, ginger and edible oil in all departments and districts of the country including Dhaka metropolis is normal. Monitoring activities are conducted. At that time, 133 institutions were fined a total of Tk 9 lakh 61 thousand in the operation conducted by 61 teams of the directorate in 54 districts of the country.
District and upazila administration and representatives of public and private departments or organizations under the task force were present in the campaign. Abdul Jabbar also said that such operations will continue in public interest.
