Jumbangla Desk: Asif Mahmud, Advisor to the Ministry of Labor and Employment of the Interim Government, said that a pension system will be introduced for garment workers. In this regard, we expect hundred percent cooperation from the factory owners. This can only be done if the owners come forward.

He said these things at the opening ceremony of TCB product sale program at fair price for garment workers at Jaber & Yobair Fabrics Limited factory in Pagar area of Tongir on Wednesday at 10:30 am.

Asif Mahmud said, workers have no pension. So I have a dream, to introduce a pension scheme for garment workers like other professionals. So that they don't have to live a miserable life later. Production should not be disrupted in the garment sector. Hundreds of workers lost their lives in the student movement. So the priority of workers is always higher. After our long struggle we came to charge. We are constantly faced with various challenges.
He said that outsiders are involved in the violence in the garment industry area. Those involved in violence will be brought to justice. Despite the endless corruption and looting, the country's economy is still dependent on the garment industry. So everyone has to come forward to sustain this industry. Among the demands of the workers, 18 rational demands have been accepted. The demands are being implemented. From today, the sale of daily commodities at fair prices has been started in the labor areas. I hope to be able to start this program step by step in all labor regions of the country.

At the end of the speech, Chief Guest Advisor Asif Mahmud distributed TCB products among the workers.

Daily commodities include five kg of rice, two kg of oil and two kg of pulses. Tk 470 will be deducted from the workers' monthly salary for the cost of TCB products.

Ministry of Commerce Secretary Moha spoke as a special guest at the event. Salim Uddin, Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment AHM Shafiquzzamam, Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) Chairman Brigadier General Md.
