Jumbangla Desk: It has been proposed to make the holiday of Durga Puja two days for two Eids and five days for traditional religions. According to the new proposal, the advisory council is going to approve the list of public holidays for 2025. A decision in this regard may come at the advisory council meeting held at the office of the chief adviser in Tejgaon on Thursday (October 17) at 11 o'clock.

Related sources say that this proposal of the Ministry of Public Administration may be presented in the advisory council meeting on Thursday. Where Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha are five days (two days before and after the Eid day) and two days of puja leave.

At present there are three days for two Eids and one day off for Puja. Before this, it was proposed to extend the Eid holiday at various times. It was also extended by executive order every few years.

Meanwhile, it is reported that the August 15 holiday may be canceled in Thursday's advisory council meeting. Along with that, the government is also considering declaring a general holiday on August 5.

In addition, the advisory council meeting may also decide to increase the maximum age limit for entry into the service , government sources said.

Incidentally, the review committee has recommended that the upper age limit for entry into government service be 35 years for men and 37 years for women. However, the committee did not say anything about the retirement age.
