Jumbangla Desk: Police have arrested Israt Jahan Tanu, the expelled president of Muktagachha Upazila Jubo Mahila League of Mymensingh. He is accused in the case of attack on anti-discrimination student movement and vandalism of BNP office.

On Wednesday (October 16) afternoon, Muktagachha police sent the accused to the Mymensingh Chief Judicial Court. Later the court ordered to send him to jail.
Earlier on Tuesday (October 15), the police arrested him from the Thana Gate area of Muktagacha town.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Muktagacha police station. Kamal Hossain said, Yubo Mahila League leader Israt Jahan Tanu was controversial on various issues. There are cases against him in the police station of attacking the student-jawanta procession and vandalizing the BNP office. He was arrested and sent to court in that case.
According to sources, controversial Yuba Mahila League leader Tanu was expelled from the organization after an offensive video went viral. There are also allegations of controversial activities, multiple marriages, embezzlement and cheating against Tanu.

Meanwhile, Tanu went into hiding after the student uprising on August 5. After that, when he came out in public, the police arrested him.
