English batter Joe Root is gradually surpassing himself. His name can easily be pronounced as the best batsman of all time in white-clothes cricket. This English gentleman has taken himself to such a height post-Covid that comparisons are only with Sachin Tendulkar or Ricky Ponting. In the meantime, new news came to light.

Joe Root

World Cricket's governing body ICC has confirmed in their official announcement that Joe Root has written his name among the top 20 Test batsmen of all time in terms of ranking points. The names of Don Bradman, Sir Jack Hobbs, Viv Richards, Gary Sobers are with him in the list.

Joe Root currently tops the ICC Test batsmen rankings. Next to the name is the rating point 932. Since 2021, however, he has established himself in Test cricket at a different level. He was also excellent in the first Test in Pakistan. Harry Brook had a record partnership of 454 runs. By the time Joe Root stopped at 262, he had established himself as the greatest British Test batsman of all time.

Joe Root is now the highest run-scorer in England's Test history, surpassing Sir Alastair Cook. Joe Root has reached 932 rating points courtesy of a brilliant innings in the first Test. This is the fourth highest rating point for England. Earlier, three England batsmen had created feats in terms of rating points. Lane Hughton had more England batsmen than Root's rating points. He went up to 945, Sir Jack Hobbs' career best was 942 and Peter May stopped at 941.

Joe Root's previous career best rating was 923. It has already been surpassed in this series. There are only 16 cricketers ahead of Root in Test history. But not everyone on this list is the former. Several of the current players are above the route. Indian batsman Virat Kohli is at number 12 in the list with 937 rating points.

Australia's Marnus Labuchen has the same number of points. He surpassed Virat Kohli within a few days of his debut in December 2022. And among the best of all time is Steve Smith. This Australian cricketer took his rating points up to 947 in December 2017.

Popular singer Liam Payne has died

Sir Don Bradman tops this list of all time. He has 961 points beyond everyone's reach. Steve Smith is followed by Len Hughton, Ricky Ponting, Jack Hobbs. Only Pakistan's Mohammad Yousuf is without Virat Kohli on Joe Root from the Asian continent.
