International Desk: Russia has claimed to occupy some more settlements in the eastern part of Ukraine. In one day, the Russian army carried out 138 air strikes targeting the base of the Ukrainian army. The Russia-Ukraine war has been going on for more than two years. Kiev has been cornered by Moscow's recent relentless offensive, despite claims for the recapture of several parts of Ukraine.

On Wednesday, Russia claimed the occupation of several other settlements in Donetsk and Lugansk in eastern Ukraine. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Putin's forces have taken control of the settlements of Krasny Yar in the Donetsk region and Nevsky in the Lugansk region.

In the last one day (up to Wednesday), Russian forces have carried out 138 airstrikes targeting Ukrainian forces and their bases. Among them, 17 drones were shot down by Kiev. In addition, fighting is going on between Zelensky and Putin's forces in Kupyansk and Pokrovsk in the eastern part of Ukraine.

In the meantime, the United States has announced a new aid package of 425 million dollars for Ukraine. This includes missiles, rockets and artillery shells for air defense.

The White House said the United States will work with 50 allies and partners to meet Ukraine's urgent weapons needs. In addition, US President Joe Biden has promised more assistance to Kiev in the future.

Meanwhile, NATO chief Mark Rutte said he was aware of Zelensky's victory plans. He also said that even if Ukraine could join NATO, there is no such opportunity in the state of war.
