Miscreants shot dead two brothers in Mohammadpur's Shia mosque raw market

Jumbangla Desk: Miscreants shot Abul Hossain and his brother Mahbub, president of the Shia mosque raw market committee of Mohammadpur in the capital. One was shot in the leg and the other in the back. They were admitted to Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in injured condition.

The incident took place on Thursday (October 18) around 8 pm. Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Iftekhar Hasan confirmed the matter. He said, this may happen due to the conflict over the leadership of the market committee.


Local traders said that three persons came to the market on a motorcycle. They went to the office of the market president Abul Hossain. Abul Hossain shouted and said that the pistol was pointed at him while the three were leaving after talking there.

Then the people of the market tried to stop the three persons. At one stage, the miscreants shot both the people of the market, including the president's younger brother Mahabub, when they tried to stop them. At that time, two shots were fired at Abul's leg and one shot at his brother Mahbub's back. The miscreants then fired 2 rounds and ran away.

The police have taken the motorcycle thrown by the miscreants into police custody.
