facial verifiacation
Singapore is the first in the world to move to integrate this system with the national ID scheme . The country's government said that this step has been taken to improve the use of technology over time. However, many have also raised the claim that the use of this method by the government may pose security risks.
How to use this method? The government has informed that multiple photographs of the person's face will be taken. It will then be linked to other information the government holds about the person — such as a national identity card, passport or employment card.
The use of this facial verification technology is already quite common in the field of monitoring the security of passengers at the airport or in various services of companies like Apple or Google. However, some experts say that there is a big difference between the use of this method in the case of opening (unlocking) mobile phones or money transactions and making connections with national security. According to them, the right to private sphere will be narrowed further. Source: Anandabazar
