Maulana Noman Billah: People do not want to take loans from others and pay easily. Which is not befitting of a believer. In the hadith, there is an incident from the era of Bani Isra'il in which the miracle of timely repayment of debts is known.

The incident was narrated by Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA). The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, A person from Bani Israel asked another person from Bani Israel for a loan of 1000 dinars. Then he (the lender) said, Bring some witnesses, I will make them witnesses.

The borrower said, Allah is sufficient as a witness. Then the creditor said, then present a guarantor. He said, Allah is sufficient as a guarantor. The lender said, You have spoken the truth.

Then he was given 1000 dinars on the condition of payment at the appointed time. The borrower traveled by sea and after meeting his needs he looked for a vehicle so that he could reach the lender within the stipulated time. But he didn't get any vehicle.

Then he took a piece of wood and pierced it and filled it with a letter in the name of the lender and one thousand dinars and closed the hole and came to the seashore and said, O Allah, you know that if I asked so and so for a loan of one thousand dinars, he asked me as a surety. I said, Allah is sufficient as a surety. He agreed to this. Then he asked me for a witness, I said Allah is sufficient as a witness, he agreed. I tried my best to get the vehicle to pay off his loan (on time), but couldn't. So I handed it over to you, saying he threw the piece of wood into the sea.

The piece of wood entered the sea. Then the man went back and looked for a vehicle to go to his hometown. On the other hand, the lender went to the seashore in the hope that perhaps the borrower had brought his goods in a boat. His gaze fell on the block of wood, which contained goods. He took the log home for his family's fuel.

When he cut the wood block, he found the goods and the letter. After a few days, the borrower came with one thousand dinars and said, By Allah! I am always looking for vehicles to deliver your goods on time. But I have not found any other ship before the one in which I came now.

The lender said, did you send anything to me? The borrower said, I told you that I have not got any other boat before this. He said, "Allah has redeemed me from you what you sent inside the piece of wood." Then he returned happily with a thousand dinars. (Bukhari 2291)
