Sports Desk: Shakib Al Hasan's last test on the country's soil was not played. Although he left for the country, he had to return from Dubai.
Adviser on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of the Interim Government has opened up about this. Asif Nazrul
Last night, in a program of private television channel Eye, he said to a question about Shakib Al Hasan's arrival in the country, 'Shakib called me several times. I asked to speak to Adviser Asif as it was none of my business'.
The legal advisor also said, 'There has never been a cricketer like Shakib in the history of Bangladesh. Shakib could have been the most popular man in the history of Bangladesh. But when the movement is going on, people are dying, crying from house to house, anger and suffering then Shakib posted that he is enjoying somewhere. Is it possible for a man?'
He said, 'Besides all the gambling, betting disorderly behavior... I think Sheikh Hasina's government is responsible for it. A state apparatus has been created where you can do whatever you want if you are loyal to Sheikh Hasina. You will not be punished. It confuses many people, it did him too. I feel enchanted. But the anger that people show towards him is not unreasonable at all.'
There was a whole day of drama yesterday on Thursday about Shakib. He came to Dubai for transit to return home. He was asked to stay there by the higher levels of the government. At one stage, Shakib himself said that he is not saying goodbye to Tests on his country's soil. In the overall situation, he has been prevented from returning to the country by the government.
