Jumbangla Desk: Referring to Fakir Lalan Shah as anti-discrimination, Fisheries and Livestock Advisor Farida Akhtar said, 'Lalan Fakir spoke against all discrimination 134 years ago.'

He said this while speaking as the chief guest on the 134th Tirodhan Day of mysterious saint Baul Samrat Fakir Lalon Shah at Lalan Akhara in Kumarkhali Chewria, Kushtia on Thursday night.

In a press release on Thursday night, the adviser also said, 'Fakir Lalan was not the emperor. He was a saint. His words exist in all spheres of society. If we love care - then we can't do injustice, oppression, torture on women. Can't kill fish with poison in agriculture, poison in river.'

Adviser also demanded preservation and research of all the words of Lalon Shah to Lalon Academy.

He said, if the interim government cannot work properly, you will correct it, talk about different issues. On the blood of the students, the government that we have formed, got the responsibility, cannot be tolerated.'

The advisor said, 'Lalan is not just a matter of singing, not just a matter of devotion, Lalan is a way of life for everyone. Lalon taught us how to express that I am nothing.'

He said, 'Care is not only for Kushtia, care is for the whole of Bangladesh, care is for the whole world.'

On the occasion of the 134th Tirodhan Day, Lalon Academy President and Acting Deputy Commissioner of Kushtia, Sharmin Akhtar, inaugurated the festival under the chairmanship of Fisheries and Animal Resources Adviser Farida Akhtar, keeping this spiritual message of Baul Samrat Fakir Lalon Shah in front of 'Manush Bhajle Sonar Manhoob Habi'.

With the cooperation of Ministry of Culture and District Administration, Lalon Academy also spoke at Lalon's Tirodhan Day event, guest of honor Syed Mahmud Belal Haider, prominent poet, philosopher, human rights activist Farhad Mazhar, former member of parliament, heroic freedom fighter Syed Mehdi Ahmed Rumi, Superintendent of Police Md. Mizanur Rahman.
