Sutrapur Thana Tanti League president Md. Nadimul Hasan Elem, the student killed in the anti-discrimination student movement in Sutrapur of the capital. Abu Saeed (59) was arrested by DMP's Sutrapur police station.
Deputy Police Commissioner of DMP Media and Public Relations Department Muhammad Talebur Rahman said that he was arrested at around 10:15 pm on Thursday (October 17) at Sutrapur police station area.
According to Sutrapur police station sources, his mother Kismat Ara filed a case in Sutrapur police station on September 1 regarding the murder of student Nadimul Hasan Elem.
According to the statement of the case, anti-discrimination activists were marching in front of Shaheed Suhrawardy Government College and Kavi Nazrul College of Sutrapur Police Station on July 19 in support of the movement. At that time, the leaders and activists of various organizations of Awami League attacked the marching students. The attackers fired indiscriminately at the protesters. Nadimul Hasan Elem, a student of Sheikh Borhanuddin Postgraduate College, was shot in the left eye. The seriously injured Nadimul Hasan Elem was taken to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him brought dead.
Sources also said that during the investigation of the case established in this incident, with the help of intelligence and technology, the accused involved in the murder of Elem Md. Abu Saeed was arrested.
Legal action against the arrested is under process at Sutrapur police station.
