Awami League leader detained on charges of immoral activities

Four people including Lakshmi Sarkar were arrested from Tarashi village of the upazila on Thursday (October 17) evening. Others are Trishna Mollah (25), Sumi Begum (28) and Mohsin Uddin Khan (20).

According to the police, Lakshmi Sarkar was carrying out various immoral activities in a rented house of Tarashi village for the last one and a half months. Local residents verbally reported the matter to Kotalipara police. Later, the police arrested four persons including Lakshmi Sarkar from that rented house.

In this regard, Kotalipara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad said that Lakshmi Sarkar was detained based on the verbal complaint of local residents. He is being interrogated. He is accused of immoral activities.
