The Bandarban Chief Judicial Magistrate Court has granted bail to several accused in a case filed by anti-discrimination students in Bandarban against the henchmen of autocratic fascism after Sheikh Hasina fled on August 5. When the accused appeared in court on Wednesday, Chief Judicial Magistrate Shamsuddin granted them bail. In this incident, anger has arisen among the student society.

Students of Bandarban protested this in a press conference on Friday morning. At this time, they said, the blood stains of the students have not dried yet. And at this time, the issue of bailing the accused is like raising the flag of dictatorship standing on the blood of the students.

Not only that, the newly appointed Chief Judicial Magistrate has already made a public announcement in the court that he has granted bail to several accused arrested in the student society case and said that he will grant bail to other accused in the case soon; Which is very sad. Because these accused will come out after being released on bail and will again create unstable environment and try to undermine the image of the current government - so the students protested. They also announced to submit a memorandum to the Chief Counsel against the judge.

It should be noted that after the July revolution, anti-discrimination students filed two cases in connection with the attack. The court granted bail to the arrested accused Abu Taib Chowdhury and Mosharraf Hossain in this case and the court also granted bail to the accused district Awami League Vice President Abdur Rahim Chowdhury in another case.

In the press conference, the anti-discrimination student society leaders also said that due to the non-reorganization of the Bandarban Hill District Council, the activities of the district council have come to a standstill and the general public is being deprived of normal services.

They said, there are 28 vested divisions under Bandarban Hill District Council; However, the activities of these departments are being disrupted as the chairman and members of Bandarban Zilla Parishad are currently absconding.

Speakers also said that since the party cadres holding various important positions appointed by the then fascist dictator in the administration are still in place, they are conspiring in various ways to debunk the current government. At this time, the leaders sought the overall cooperation of the general public including journalists and called upon them to stand united with the anti-discrimination student society to build a beautiful Bangladesh.

Bandarban District Representative of Anti Discrimination Student Society Asif Iqbal, Muhammad Musa, Habib Al Mahmud, Ashraful Islam, President of Press Club Aminul Islam Bachchu, former General Secretary Minarul Islam, journalists from various print and electronic media and representatives of Anti Discrimination Student Society were present in the press conference.
