Jumbangla Desk: The joint operation led by the police force and traffic members against the law and order situation in the capital Uttara, blocking of government works, unfit vehicles on the road, cars without driving license papers and drugs led by the army has brought some relief to the common people and pedestrians living in Uttara.
For the past few weeks, joint operations on the airport highway and various roads in Uttara have reduced the number of robberies and youth gangs.
On Wednesday night, the joint forces conducted an operation to control the law and order situation on the 300 feet road of Khilkhet of the capital. During this time they filed a case of Tk 1 lakh 41 thousand against 81 vehicles, seized 9 motorcycles and arrested 5 bikers.
A joint operation was conducted by the army, traffic police and police station on Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 am in the check post area of 300 feet road under Khilkhet police station.
Army officials said, they raided the 300 feet area and filed a case of Tk 1 lakh 41 thousand in two hours. 9 vehicles seized and five bikers arrested and handed over to Khilkhet police station.
It is known that most of the vehicles in the case were motorcycles and private cars. They have also filed a case against vehicles for disobeying traffic signals, vehicles without registration, driving licenses and documents not in order. Besides, they have seized all the vehicles and detained the bikers.
On the surface, it can be seen that the traffic police in Uttara area has slackened after the fall of the Ah League government on August 5 in the anti-discrimination student movement. Due to the negligence of the traffic police, illegal auto-rickshaws have taken over various branch roads of Uttara.
Turag Kamarpara intersection, Sector No. 10 Bridge area, Khalpar intersection, Passport Office intersection, Zamzam Tower-House Building area, Abdullahpur intersection, Uttara No. 6 Sector Bangladesh Kuwait Maitri Hospital and Rajuk Model College road in front of Nawab Habibullah School and College Azampur in the silence of traffic police. , Jasim Uddin Paka Matha and Airport Railway Station to Ascona road, apart from Uttara Sector 13-14 intersection and Azampur area, there is unbearable traffic jam.
Locals said that since the downfall of the autocratic Awami League government, the traffic police in the Uttara area has become lax. They are not performing their duties as before. Even though the pressure of vehicles on the road is constantly increasing, they are still not working openly over their fear. As there is no presence of traffic police on the road, the public transport passengers are standing on the airport highway at will. As a result, the people of Uttara are suffering.
As the activities of the traffic police are not normal, traffic jams are constantly created due to the parking of cars on the road.
Also, many are occupying the footpaths and roads of Uttara and setting up shops and extorting money.
This year Sri Sri Durga Puja has been successfully celebrated in 11 puja mandaps of Uttara in Dhaka-18 Constituency with the help of army members of army camp located in Uttara Diabari Army Camp and Haji Camp, they are gaining the trust of the locals.
On the other hand, for the past few weeks, they have been working with the police force and traffic police members to reduce public suffering and restore peace among the people.
It can be seen on the ground that the joint forces are working day and night in the Uttara area along with the thana police to bring relief to the people, traffic congestion and order on the roads.
On Thursday, October 17, from 11:00 pm to 2:00 am, Khilkhet set up a check post on the 300 feet road and conducted an operation with the army, traffic police and police station.
They gave a total of 136 cases in the campaign. In addition, he collected a fine of 2 lakh 34 thousand 500 taka. Along with that, 12 people were arrested for various crimes including drug consumption, obstruction of government work and signal disobedience.
Also, 27 motorcycles and 2 private cars were seized in the raid. They have handed over them to Khilkhet police station to take legal action against those arrested. In this regard, the officer in charge of Khilkhet police station said that legal action has been taken against some of the people arrested in the raid as their documents are correct.
