International Desk: To increase the flow of remittances from the United States to Bangladesh, the two-day 'Bangladesh Remittance Fair' is starting on October 20 at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center in New York.

Bangladesh-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mukt Dhara New York and US-Bangla Business Link are jointly organizing this event under the supervision of Dhaka Bank.
Emphasizing legitimate remittance flows and increasing sustainable growth, the fair aims to highlight how to increase foreign earnings and encourage expatriates to use legitimate channels of remittances, which will further strengthen the economy.
Participating institutions include banks, financial institutions, money transfer operators, remittance channel partners, mobile financial services, offshore banking service providers and expatriate micro-entrepreneurs.
More than 30 financial institutions from both Bangladesh and the United States will participate, including IFIC Bank, Islami Bank, Standard Bank, Social Islamic Bank Limited, Dhaka Bank, Chevron Express and Standard Express.
The fair will feature seminars and symposiums on remittances, as well as awards for the top 10 Bangladeshi-American remittance senders. Apart from this, Islamic Bank, National Bank and Bank Asia will be honored as the top remittance receiving banks at the fair and awards will be given to the top three money exchange or remittance channel companies.
The fair will be open from 4pm to 10pm (New York time) on both days at the venue. Popular artists Paushali Banerjee and Shah Mahbub will perform on the inauguration day.
