Mufti Abdul Malek, the country's Islamic law expert and hadith expert, has become the khatib of Baitul Mukarram. Sheikh Ahmadullah, the popular Islamic commentator and chairman of As-Sunnah Foundation, congratulated the new imam of the National Mosque.

On Friday evening, he posted a post on his verified Facebook page about Baitul Mukarram's Khatib. He expressed the hope that Maulana Abdul Malek will serve as the national guardian of all Muslims.
Shaikh Ahmadullah wrote in the post, "Maulana Abdul Malek Hafizullah, a prominent scholar of the country, has been appointed Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. Congratulations to him. He is a scholar of Hadith and a very humble man.
He also wrote, 'May Almighty Allah grant him Tawfiq to play a strong role in the welfare of Islam and the Muslim Ummah and to perform his duties as the national guardian of all Muslims irrespective of their sect or group.'
Last Thursday (October 17) he was approved by the highest level of the government to appoint Khatib. Later on Friday (October 18) this information was informed in a press release of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Maulana Abdul Malek is a renowned scholar who has obtained higher degrees in Islamic Studies, Hadith and Fiqh from renowned educational institutions at home and abroad.
