Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the United States is constantly meddling in the internal affairs of Asian countries and thereby bringing European countries into conflict with China. To the US, European allies are like puppies on a leash.

He made this comment in a meeting with media chiefs of BRICS countries on Friday. RT news.
At the meeting, Putin noted that 'Russia's unique relationship with China and growing cooperation between Moscow and Beijing in the international arena have become the key factors for the world's strategic stability.'
At that time, Vladimir Putin said that Russia-China relations are based on 'equality' and both countries always look after each other's interests and listen to each other. "In contrast, Washington is pursuing a counterproductive policy in Asia and is persuading its European partners to do the same," he added.
"Nobody even wants to ask Europeans their opinion," the Russian president added. Do they want to destroy their relationship with China and get involved in Asia—through the NATO framework—and create a situation there that will cause concern among countries in the region, including China?'
At that time, the Russian president also said, 'I can tell you emphatically, they (Europe) do not want this. Yet, they are being dragged there with a rope tied around their neck. As if father's elder brother is dragging a small dog with him.'
At the time, Putin insisted that it was now impossible for the United States to stop China's development, and that Washington was 15 years too late to try to do so.
