He said these things at a press conference organized on Friday at the Jahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall of the National Press Club of the capital on the looting of daily Amar Desh Patrika and other issues.
Mahmudur Rahman said, two days ago, the magistrate and responsible police officers on behalf of the current government broke the lock and showed us the printing house of Amar Desh newspaper. I went there and saw that there was nothing left of the press. Even the electric panel was taken away. Only two machine fragments remained, which could not be stolen because they could not be broken. It is positive for us that government representatives ie a magistrate and two OCs have seen the condition of the press. An OC admitted to the media that there is nothing left of this press.
Mahmudur Rahman said, I will hand over my country to the reader again in the month of December. Two and a half months left. The paper would again speak for the people and against Indian expansionism. Will speak against looters.
President of National Press Club Hasan Hafiz, Director General of Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust M Abdullah, General Secretary of Dhaka Journalist Union (Ekangsh) Khurshid Alam and Chief Correspondent of Amar Desh Patrika were present at the press conference.
