A worshiper named Fajr Gazi was killed in a clash over the sale of goats donated to the mosque at Paikgacha in Khulna. The incident took place in front of Dhonai Mosque in Shyamnagar village of Paikgacha at around 2.30 pm after Friday prayers.

Fajr Gazi (50) is the son of deceased Muslim Gazi of Shyamnagar village of upazila.

Locals said that there is a long dispute between Mustafa Gazi and Shamim Sardar group regarding the mosque committee. On the day of the incident, a goat donated to the mosque could not be sold for the remainder - a clash broke out between the two sides over a slur. Fajr Gazi was killed on the spot by a stick during the clash. At least 10 people were injured on both sides.

Paikgacha police station officer in-charge (acting) Tushar Kanti Das said that the body has been sent to the morgue.
