BNP executive committee member Hummam Quader Chowdhury said, no matter how you think - maybe I am stubborn, we have to return this seat to BNP. I don't care if the party nominates me or not. I heard that Awami League may take out a procession in Rangunia next week. If Awami League takes out a procession, it is your responsibility to run. If there is a case after that, I will be proud to be the first defendant.

He also said that the number one accused in the case of beating Awami League is the son of Salauddin Quader Chowdhury. I endured 16 years of Awami League misrule and persecution. Now the time of torture is over. Awami League has no excuse.

Hummam Quader Chowdhury said these things while addressing the chief guest at the commemoration meeting of former BNP standing committee member Salauddin Quader Chowdhury organized by Union BNP, Youth Dal, Chhatra Dal, Anga and allied organizations at the Parua Sahabdinagar High School grounds of Rangunia Upazila on Friday afternoon.

Referring to father Salauddin Quader Chowdhury, he said that in 2008, when my father decided to contest from two constituencies, a person very close to my father came and said, "Bhaijan's son is too old, let him vote." In one seat you do, in the second you give it to your son. Then my father laughed and said - the day the local people enter the house and pull my son out and say, now you are the leader, that day my son will be a leader, not before that. Hopefully before the election you will come to my house, drag me out, and hand over the leadership to me.

Hummam Quader Chowdhury mentioned that the family and the Awami League had tortured him and said, "Everyone knows the torture of the Awami League on my family." The torture I endured, I myself was missing for 7 months. However, the torture of Awami League on you has not been forgotten. Starting from collecting fees from you, making your brothers disappear, suing, not allowing your children to enroll in school, you have endured all the torture. Many leaders will come and say, they have been patient for so long, and they will be patient for a few months or a few more years. But forgive me, hot temper, hot blood. Awami League has no excuse.

Requesting the extortionists to be handed over to the police, Tine said that extortion which was done by Awami League earlier, is now being done by some of our well-known people. It is your responsibility to hand over and identify those who are doing this extortion. Any extortionists found on Rangunia soil should be handed over to the police.

Referring to the issue of drugs, Hummam Quader Chowdhury said, I don't know how many drug dealers have entered Rangunia with the help of Awami League in the last 16 years. But if we find a drug dealer after today, maybe Allah will forgive him, but we will not forgive him. We have zero tolerance for drugs.

Referring to the vote, he said, "I trust the mentors more than the youths." Hopefully you will work for me whenever the time comes. Do it only when I prove that I am on your side. Next year will give you an opportunity to serve you. To stand by you. Hopefully, I can prove that Saladin Quader Chowdhury's son may not be as tall as him, but he has become as tall as him in politics. I have not come to be your leader, I have come to be a brother, you will see me as a member of your family.
