FIFA (Federation of International Football Association) is starting the Club World Cup with 32 teams for the first time next year. And in this World Cup, the organization decided to officially include Argentina captain Lionel Messi's club Inter Miami in the 'FIFA Club World Cup'. This information is known from a report of ESPN.

Messi's Miami

According to the report, FIFA Club World Cup may start in June 2025. Inter Miami is included in the list of participating Major League Soccer (MLS) teams. FIFA will officially announce the team's participation in a few days. FIFA wants to let a superstar like Messi play to make this tournament more interesting.

According to ESPN, recently Inter Miami won one of the US football titles, the 'Supporter Shield'. FIFA will invite Messi's club as the best team of the MLS season. Football's highest governing body allows the host country's club to play in the tournament on a quota basis. In this manner, not only Miami, but four teams from the CONCACAF region will play in the World Cup. However, FIFA has not yet clarified which guest teams will be allowed to play in the criteria. The main tournament will feature 12 teams from Europe, 6 from South America, 4 from North America and the Caribbean, 4 each from Asia and Africa and 1 team from Oceania.

Meanwhile Real Madrid (2021-22 and 2023-24 European Champions League winners), Manchester City (2022-23 European Champions League winners), CONCACAF to Monterrey (2021 CONCACAF Champions Cup winners), Pachuca (2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup winners), The Seattle Sounders (2022 CONCACAF Champions Cup winners) and Lyon (2023 CONCACAF Champions Cup winners) are confirmed to play in the tournament.

On the other hand, CONCACAF has received an additional invitation since the United States is the host country of the Club World Cup. And this extra ticket was awarded to 2024 Supporters' Shield winners Inter Miami.
