Adviser Asif Mahmood has visited Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium several times after taking charge of Youth and Sports Ministry. In that continuation, he visited two stadiums in Chittagong.
On Saturday (October 19), the adviser visited the current situation of Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium and MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong. He directed the National Sports Council (NSC) to start the urgent renovation work in the two stadiums as soon as possible.
The 11th edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is scheduled to be played on December 27. Before this, the sports advisor urged to complete the necessary renovation of the stadium.
A status from Asif Mahmud's verified Facebook page says, 'Unfortunately, the name is MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong. The last international match was played here 19 years ago. No maintenance, poor condition of the field. Gallery, field or entrance, can't look anywhere. During BPL, foreign cricketers also come here to practice. This time the touch of reform will be here too.'
After visiting the stadium, the Sports Advisor met with Chittagong District and Divisional officials in an exchange meeting at Chittagong Circuit House.
