Workers blocked Shahbagh intersection from Saturday morning to demand nationalization of jobs. All types of traffic through Shahbagh intersection is closed.

Eyewitnesses said that several hundred employees of Bangladesh Outsourcing Employees Welfare Council gathered at Shahbagh around 10 am and stopped traffic in the surrounding area. At this time, many passengers can be seen getting off the bus and walking towards their destination.

This stopped the traffic from Science Laboratory, Matsya Bhavan Banglamotor to Shahbagmukhi road.

Sitting on the blockade, they chanted slogans like 'There is no room for discrimination in independent Bengal', 'There is no room for discrimination in Bengal for students', 'I want slavery to be abolished', etc.

The protestors have demanded the permanent employment of the employees working in the outsourcing project in all the institutions of the government, autonomous departments and departments. They said that they are being discriminated while working through outsourcing. Due to this, their jobs can be lost at any time. If they don't work, they don't get paid. They also said that they will continue this movement if there is no direction regarding the permanent job.
