In a village there lived a young man named Abdullah. He was very ordinary, but the power of faith in his heart was immense. His father was an Islamic teacher and mother a housewife. From childhood, Abdullah had a strange attraction towards Islamic education. He used to learn Quran and Hadith from his father.
One day, Abdullah's father said to him, "Son, the main aim of life is to gain the pleasure of Allah. If you can follow the path of light, everything will be easy for you."
Hearing this, Abdullah became more determined. He prayed five times a day, and helped those in the village who wanted to learn Islam. The villagers respected him greatly and called him "Aleem Sahib".
Once upon a time a problem arose in the village. A young man from a dwarf village, named Rahman, was turning away from Islam. He was involved in various misdeeds. The people of the village were worried about him. When Abdullah came to know about this, he thought, "I can do something for Rahman."
He went to Rahman and said, "Brother, do you know how beautiful Islam shows us? Why are you going this way?” Rahman was a bit surprised to hear Abdullah's words, but he denied his mistake.
Now Abdullah decided that he would be friends with Rahman. He went to Rahman's house and started spending time with him occasionally. Gradually, Rahman began to trust Abdullah's friendship.
One day, Abdullah said to Rahman, "Come, let us pray together." Rahman was scared at first, but Abdullah's kindness allowed him to agree. From then on they started praying together regularly. Abdullah's sincerity and Islamic ideals greatly impressed Rahman.
One day there was a big event in the village. There Abdullah got up to give a speech. He discussed the importance of Islam, peace and harmony. Hearing the speech, more love for Islam was born in Rahman's heart. He realized how terribly wrong he was going.
After all these incidents Rahman decided to start a new life. He began to spend more time with Abdullah and gradually his attraction towards Islam grew. Finally Rahman repented and returned to the path of Islam.
The people of the village were surprised to see Abdullah's efforts. They understood how the work of a true Muslim can bring change in the society. Abdullah was very happy about this. He believed that walking in the way of Allah is very important to establish peace in the society.
Now Abdullah and Rahman's friendship became an example among the youth of the village. They started encouraging everyone to follow the right path of Islam. Abdullah always said, "He who follows the path of light never falls into darkness."
Over time, the ideals and teachings of Islam became more accepted in the villages. People started following the life of Abdullah and Rahman and peace and harmony was established in the society.
A few years later, Abdullah's father died. But his teachings and ideals lived forever in the village. Abdullah was trying to carry on his father's work. Rahman was also by his side.
One day, Abdullah said, "If we can maintain this love and cooperation among ourselves, Allah will be pleased with us." Rahman nodded and agreed.
Thus Abdullah and Rahman continued to spread the true teachings of Islam in the village. They said that in a society where there is love and harmony, God's mercy will be there. The people of the society came together to solve their problems and the condition of the village started to improve.
One idea stuck in everyone's mind—"As long as we follow the path of light, God will help us." The example of Abdullah and Rahman was forever remembered by the villagers.
Thus Abdullah's hard work, devotion and morality spread the light of Islamic education in the village and brought a new form to the society. They proved that society can be improved if it is united and follows the path of Islam.
And through this their life and work proved that walking in the path of God is never in vain.b
