Near the Darkness, Wanting to Touch the Light

A young woman lives in a dark corner of the city, who goes out to find hope in life. His journey, sorrow and struggle for dreams are revealed in this story. He finds new ways in the conflict between light and darkness.

A small house in a corner of the city. On one side the leafy trees near the window, on the other side the sound of rain falling like a continuous shower. Akash lives in this room, just past fifteen. His life is like an unfinished story—dark, sad, but hopeful. Akash's mother passed away a few years ago. Father remains silent, accompanied by sadness and suffering.

Daylight is a rare resource in the sky. When the sun rises in the morning, he prepares to put a white cap on his head. One cannot leave the house without wearing a hat. The hat is given to him by his mother, which he can never let go of. Today he decided, today he will go out of town. Will see something new, learn something new.

The sky clears in the afternoon. Crowds of people on the streets of the city, car horns, the noise of shops—everything comes together like a festival. But there is only emptiness in the eyes of the sky. He decided where to go, to his dream place.

When Akash crosses the road, he sees an old bookstore. Through the window of the shop, some book covers can be seen, as if there is a lot of history hidden in them. He bought an old book from there and came out. The name of the book is "Light and Darkness".

When he opens the book, he feels that this is the story of his life. Discussions about darkness and light, talk of struggle. He falls. There is something written in the book, which instills new hope in his mind.

At the end of the day, Akash realizes how important it was for him to get out of the city. He had some strange thoughts on his way back home. People in darkness are also looking for light. Something needs to be done for them.

Akash returned home at night and sat on the sofa with the book. His life should match the character of the book. Every word sheds new light from within. "How can I help?"—it kept running through his mind.

The next day, sky-wise, he joins the local community center. There is an opportunity to do something for the helpless people. On the first day he spoke to the refugees. Hearing their story brought tears to his eyes.

"I'll do anything for you," he vows. Akash started going there regularly from that day. She learns to cook for them there, tells stories, sings songs.

One day, a small child came and sat with Akash. He held Akash's hand with his small hand. "You always come for us, why?" Hearing the child's question, Akash smiled. "For I know, there is much light in you."

The days went on like this. Akash spends time with everyone at the community center. He realizes that light has to be found in the midst of darkness.

A few months later, one day a special function was organized at the center. There are arrangements for everyone. Akash feels, this is the only day, when he can express his feelings.

Akash stood up in the middle of the ceremony. "I know we are in a lot of trouble. But I believe we can come out of this darkness together. If there is a little light between us, we can start anew."

Everyone listens quietly. Let the words of the sky enter their hearts. At the end of the event, everyone has a new enthusiasm.

Akash is no longer alone. He realizes that everything is possible if we help each other in the dark. His coming out of his own darkness was the beginning.

Thus, he embraces new life in the dark corners of the city. The book is like a direction for him, where he learns to find light in the midst of darkness.

Years later, when Akash looks back, he realizes that he has learned to write his own story. Standing near the darkness, he reached the light.

Thus, Akash's story did not end, but a new chapter began.
