Jumbangla Desk: The families of those killed and injured in the anti-discrimination student movement and the anti-government movement will get lifelong support, said the interim government's religious adviser Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain.
He said this after meeting and providing financial assistance to the family members of Wasim Akram and Ahsan Habib of Chakria Fasiakhali, who were killed in the students' movement at Pekua in Cox's Bazar on Saturday (October 19).
AFM Khalid Hossain said, "The present government does not hold political revenge against anyone. All the real criminals who killed people and looted the country's money will be judged. This is what the nation expects from this government. The families of all those killed and injured in the movement will get lifelong support.”
He said, "The nation will forever remember the martyrs of Wasim in the July-August revolution. The current government will form a July Revolution Foundation. Martyrs and injured families will get lifelong support through this foundation. It will be ensured that the next government also continues this program.”
He also reiterated the support of the families of the victims by giving 30 lakh taka announced by the government.
The religious advisor also said, "All those who killed and injured our brothers in July-August, will be brought under the law and will be properly tried by this government. Many criminals have already been arrested. A case has been filed.”
He said, “No one is above the law, the present government wants to establish a true rule of law in the country. To this end, the government is working on reforms.”
