On Saturday (October 19) after exchanging views with business leaders at the Chittagong Chamber, he faced the journalists regarding cricketer and former member of parliament Shakib Al Hasan.
In response to a question, he said, 'I am not clear where my fuel is said. I saw a video where a student said the sports advisor went. When I gave a press briefing at BCB, I said that it is everyone's constitutional right to protest or express opinion and if someone misreads it or gives a misleading statement, I am not responsible.'
Adviser Asif Mahmud said that he has advised BCB that Shakib should not come to the country for the time being so that no untoward situation occurs in the sports arena. BCB has spoken to Shakib accordingly.
In response to the question whether the ICC has given any decision in this regard or not, he said, 'A special situation has developed in Bangladesh, the whole world knows it. Shakib Al Hasan was involved with the fascist government. Because of this, anger has been created among people and we have seen its manifestations.'
Asif Mahmud also said, 'ICC also knows the issues. No official announcement has been made in this regard. They will inform BCB if anything is reported. I can't say anything before the ICC says something.'
