As a tourist city of Maldives, the demand for hotel and restaurant business is above all. Along with the locals, the traffic of expatriate Bangladeshi businessmen is also increasing day by day.


A large part of the more than one lakh expatriates living in the country are involved in various businesses. Along with work, they are becoming new entrepreneurs with business organizations.


Bengali restaurants here offer local food as well as Bangladeshi food which is loved by everyone from expats to tourists. On Friday (October 18), one such Bengali restaurant was inaugurated in the capital Malé with Bengali cuisine.


At the invitation of the owner of the restaurant, Shah Alam, along with local dignitaries, President of Maldives BNP. Khalilur Rahman and General Secretary Zahirul Islam, Dhaka Traders leader Babul Hossain and local expatriate Bangladeshis attended the event.

They requested the entrepreneurs to maintain the quality of the food. Owner Shah Alam also promises to serve customers quality Maldivian and Bengali cuisine.


According to stakeholders, there are numerous small and medium businesses in the Maldives run by expatriate Bangladeshis. On the one hand, investment in business is increasing, and on the other hand, employment is also being created for Bangladeshis.
