Jumbangla Desk: The National Identity Registration Division (NID) under the Election Commission has instructed field officials that there is no need to verify fingerprints at upazila or thana election offices during the registration of new voters.

NID Assistant Programmer Aminul Islam has sent an instruction in this regard to the field officers.
In the letter, it was informed that, in the meeting to resolve the application for amendment of national identity card of Khulna region and ensure the service regarding registration of new voters, it has been decided that fingerprint verification will not be required during the registration of new voters in all other upazila or thana election offices except special areas of Chittagong region.
In this situation, all Upazila Election Offices have been directed to complete the registration process without fingerprint verification.
