Meteorologists fear that the low pressure may turn into a cyclone. The possible cyclone has been named 'Dana'.

Meteorologist Mustafa Kamal Palash, a PhD researcher in meteorology and climate at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, gave an idea of ​​the possible height of the tide if the possible cyclone 'Dana' hits.

He said, in Satkhira, Khulna, and Bagerhat districts, the tide may be 5 to 8 feet higher than normal time (at high tide) and 2 to 5 feet higher than normal time (at low tide).

Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola may experience 3 to 5 feet higher than normal (high tide) and 1 to 3 feet higher than normal (low tide).

Noakhali, Chittagong may experience 3 to 5 feet higher than normal (high tide) and 2 to 3 feet higher than normal (low tide).

Cox's Bazar may experience 2 to 4 feet higher than normal (high tide) and 1 to 3 feet higher than normal (low tide).

Palash said that according to the latest forecast obtained from weather forecasting models of the United States and the European Union, the possible cyclone is expected to hit the coast of West Bengal, India and Khulna Division of Bangladesh between midnight of October 23 and midnight of October 24. The cyclone is expected to move along almost the same path as Cyclone Ampan made landfall. That is, it is feared to hit the coast of Mednipur and South Twenty-four Parganas districts of West Bengal and Satkhira and Khulna districts of Bangladesh.
