Earlier on Saturday night at 11 pm, the students hung the lock in the room of Provost Mursheda Begum and demanded her resignation in 22-point demand, accusing her of anti-coup. They accused him of arbitrariness and political influence in appointing his sister as Hall Superintendent.


The students said that the provost's husband, Sohel Parvez, is the former president and senate member of the Biplab University Chhatra League and the current general secretary of the Central Jubo League. He appointed his younger sister Romana Islam as Hall Superintendent during his tenure as Hall Provost. Here the question of nepotism and transparency in recruitment remains. They simultaneously demanded the resignation of Hall Super Romana Islam pending investigation.

Apart from this, they demanded to present in front of the students how much the budget received for the renovation of 1 crore 8 lakh taka has been spent in which sector. In the 22-point demand of the students, various issues related to the facilities of the hall come up.

In this regard, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan said, 'I have received an application for exemption from the Provost of that hall. I have also heard other claims by being present in person. We are still talking to the students. Action will be taken as per rules.
