The final parade of Apprentice Assistant Superintendents of Police of the 40th BCS (Police) cadre was scheduled to take place at the Academic Parade Ground on Sunday (October 20) at 10 am.

It is known that the interim government's home affairs advisor Lt. General (retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury was supposed to take the salute and inspect the parade. Apart from this, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Moinul Islam and Director General (DG) of RAB AKM Shahidur Rahman along with senior officials of law enforcement and related departments of the government were staying at Sarada Police Academy on Saturday night to participate in Sunday morning parade. However, it was reported on Saturday night that due to unavoidable reasons, the final parade of trainee Assistant Superintendents of Police has been postponed.

This is the first time that the closing parade has been postponed. All preparations were done for the event. Invitations have already been distributed to various law enforcement agencies, senior government officials and dignitaries and media workers.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media) Sabina Yasmin said that the closing parade of the 40th BCS (Police) batch to be held at Bangladesh Police Academy, Rajshahi on Sunday is not being held due to unavoidable reasons.

It is reported that officers of the 40th BCS Police Cadre joined Sarada Police Academy on 4th December 2022.

Allegedly, Sheikh Hasina's government selected those 62 people as ASP from the 40th BCS in three categories. The categories are – Chhatra League, residents of Gopalganj and party cadre. According to sources, many passed the written and oral exams at that time but were dropped only because of the reports of SB and NSI. No one was appointed unless Awami League did it. At the same time, no matter how good the results are, if anyone in the family is involved in BNP or Jamaat politics, he has been excluded. On the other hand, various political parties, including BNP, have demanded to cancel the recruitment of three batches of BCS completed during the Awami League period.

Calling Sheikh Hasina to come to the country and face justice

According to sources, the SB, NSI reports are being reviewed, starting with the test results of the 62 accused before the training parade. After investigating whether there is anyone innocent among them, the date of the re-training parade will be finalized.
