Jumbangla Desk : Syed Sayedul Haque (Barrister Sumon), former Member of Parliament of Habiganj-4 (Chunarughat-Madhavpur) Constituency has been arrested. Yesterday, Monday night Pallabi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Nazrul Islam confirmed this information.

He said, 'Mirpur Model Police Station has arrested Barrister Sumon, a former Member of Parliament from Dhaka, in the student murder case during the anti-discrimination student movement. But due to vandalism and arson at the Mirpur Model Police Station during the agitation, there is currently no place to keep the accused. For this reason Barrister Suman has been kept in Pallabi police station.

Meanwhile, Suman published a video on the social media Facebook at midnight before his arrest. In the caption of that video message, he wrote, 'I am going with the police. See you in court. Pray everyone.'

In the video message, he said, 'First of all, I want to inform you that I am in the country. I am in Dhaka city. I did not go anywhere after August 5. I was undercover only for security reasons.'

He said, 'After August 5, many people told me that you should go abroad. But I didn't go. I feel that I have never been corrupt. I have no plot and flat in Dhaka city. Even then, why should I leave the country?'

Barrister Suman also said, 'If there is a case in my name, I will deal with it through law. As I am a lawyer, I have faith in the law.'
