Meanwhile, security has been beefed up today after last night's attempt to enter Bangabhaban and attack on policemen. Apart from the barricade, a barbed wire fence has been erected in front of the main gate of Banga Bhavan today.
A large number of APBN, BGB, Police and Army were seen deployed in armed positions in front of the main gate of Banga Bhavan. APC, Raitokar with water cannon have been kept ready.
Earlier, on Tuesday (October 22) from 4 pm on the road in front of Banga Bhavan, protestors holding banners of various organizations started protesting. At one point, when they tried to enter Bangabhaban, the security forces stopped them. While trying to break the barricade and enter inside, two were shot dead and one was injured by a sound grenade blast. Later they were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
At 8:15 pm, a woman member of the anti-discrimination student movement announced on the mic. After that 300-400 people pushed the barricade in front of Banga Bhavan. The police threw sound grenades at the protestors around 8:22. This increases the tension. Protesters also tried to attack the police. Later, the army personnel brought the situation under control. The protestors left the Bangabhaban area around 2:30 am.
