Anika Fariha Zaman Arna, general physician of Rajshahi University (Rabi) Medical Center, moved to Thailand with her husband. Although he has not been seen in office for almost nine months since last February, it is known that he is receiving regular salary and allowances.

Doctor Anik Fariha Zaman Arna is the eldest daughter of Rajshahi City Corporation's former mayor Khairuzzaman Liton. He was also a member of Bangladesh Awami League's health and population sub-committee, member of Rajshahi District Awami League and member of Jubo Mahila League's central committee. Apart from this, this leader was also the general secretary of the Rajshahi district of the Independent Medical Council (Swachip).

It is known that on July 1, 2019, Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. During the time of M. Abdus Sobhan, this leader of Awami League was temporarily appointed to the medical center of Rajshahi University due to her father's political power. He has been working at Rabir Medical Center for the past five and a half years, renewing it every six months after getting a temporary appointment. His latest six-month tenure is renewed till December 31. If the job is not renewed, he will automatically lose his job.

Meanwhile, even though five and a half years have passed since he entered the service, most of the teachers and students of the university do not know him as Rabi's doctor. He used to earn the whole month's salary by working two days a month. Also, there are various allegations against him including abuse of power at work.

It is also known that Anika Fariha Zaman Arna last worked on February 11. After that, he was not seen in office. He has received around 4 lakh 30 thousand rupees as salary and allowance for the last 9 months without working. The leader used to get the salary of eighth grade.

Talking to other medical doctors, Arna Zaman has never been seen in the office regularly since being appointed. He used to work two days a month. Although her duty was from 9 am to 4 am, the mayor's daughter Arna worked from 12 noon to 2 pm. He was accompanied by several armed bodyguards during office hours. As a result, other medical doctors and students who came for treatment were very afraid of this.

Other medical doctors also said that during his office hours, leaders and activists from Rajshahi University, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) and Rajshahi District Chhatra League used to crowd in front of the chamber. They used to chant different slogans there. In this, ordinary students who came for diagnosis would return without seeking medical care.

Talking to ordinary students, it is known that most of the students of the university have never seen this doctor in the medical center. Many people do not know that someone named Anika Fariha Zaman Arna used to work in the medical center. Although some students knew about him, they did not go for treatment due to the presence of Chhatra League leaders and activists in front of his chamber and the fear of Arna's bodyguard.

Anika Fariha Zaman Arna did not do much duty, said a doctor of the medical center who did not wish to be named. He was seen suddenly once or twice a month. When he came to the office, he was accompanied by two armed bodyguards. As a result, my colleagues along with me were very scared. I did not go in front of his chamber out of fear. Meanwhile, as long as he was in office, the leaders and activists of the Chhatra League were always present in front of his chamber and sometimes raised slogans.

Anika Fariha Zaman Arna's phone and WhatsApp calls and messages multiple times to know about the complaint did not get any response.

If you want to know about this, the chief doctor of the university's medical center Dr. Mafruha Siddika Lipi said, Dr. Anika Fariha Zaman Orna is off duty for the last 8-9 months. However, he is receiving salary and allowances from the university. We have tried so hard to reach him so far. We have informed the registrar of the university through a complaint. Now the university administration will do what they think is best.

Saleh Hasan Naqib said, we have sent a notice to all the teachers-officers and employees who are not present in their offices after August 5. But since Anika Fariha Zaman Arna has been out of office for nine months, it must be seen differently. After knowing the details about it, action should be taken according to the law of the university.
