How many types of water are there in the world?

Scientists have found three naturally occurring hydrogen isotopes, each of which is capable of bonding with oxygen. So, we can think of three types of water. Protium, deuterium and tritium water are H₂O, D₂O and T₂O respectively.

The existence of 'mixed' water is also possible, such as molecules made up of atoms of protium and deuterium or deuterium and tritium. This will increase the number of water: HDO, HTO and DTO. But oxygen in water also has a mixture of three different isotopes: oxygen-16, oxygen-17 and oxygen-18.

The first one has the highest number. 12 more possible types of water can be added to the list based on this oxygen. When you take a bowl of water from a river or a lake, you surely do not suspect the presence of eighteen types of water in it.

So water wherever it comes from is a mixture of molecules and the lightest and heaviest are H₂O 16 and T 2 O 18 respectively . Chemists can now separate eighteen types of water in a completely pure state. Hydrogen isotopes are distinctly different from each other in nature.

But different types of water? They are more or less different! Their density, freezing point and boiling point are different. And also in the kingdom of nature the relative quantity of different kinds of water is always and everywhere different.
