Jumbangla Desk: Awami League's fraternal organization Chhatra League has been banned by the students in Feni. Yesterday at around 10:30 pm, students cheered on the trunk road of the city to organize anti-discrimination student movement. Later they also distributed sweets there.

Abdullah Al Jubair, Jamal Uddin and Sani Mazumder, one of the representatives of anti-discrimination student movement, spoke at the end of the procession.

Abdullah Al Zubair said, Chhatra League has been conducting terrorist activities for the last 16 years. In this movement also in Feni they killed our brothers by indiscriminately attacking and firing on students. I want to root out Chhatra League and its allies from this country. Only then will the sacrifices of our students be worthwhile.

The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Civic Committee had set a deadline of Thursday (October 24) to ban the Chhatra League from a press conference on Wednesday evening. Before that, the government declared the organization banned. At night, the Home Ministry announced that the Chhatra League was banned.

It is said in the notification that Bangladesh Awami League's fraternal organization Bangladesh Chhatra League has been involved in various activities disrupting public security, including murder, torture, common room-based oppression, seat trading in dormitories, tender betting, rape and sexual harassment, during various periods after the independence of Bangladesh, especially during the last 15 years of dictatorial rule. The relevant documentary information has been published in all the major media of the country and the guilt of the organization's leaders and activists has also been proved in court in some terrorist incidents. During the anti-discrimination student movement since July 15, the leaders and activists of the Chhatra League killed hundreds of innocent students and people and endangered the lives of many more people by attacking the protesting students and general public with frenzied and reckless armed attacks.

The government has enough evidence that even after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, the Bangladesh Chhatra League has been involved in conspiratorial, destructive and provocative activities against the state and various terrorist activities.

In this situation, the government has banned Bangladesh Awami League's fraternal organization 'Bangladesh Chhatra League' under the powers given in sub-section (1) of section 18 of the 'Anti-Terrorism Act, 2009' and the student organization named 'Bangladesh Chhatra League' in schedule-2 of that law. Listed as Prohibited Entity mentioned in notification.

The notification states that this order will be effective immediately.
