The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification banning the organization on Wednesday (October 23) night. After receiving this news, in a response on Facebook, Abrar Fayyaz first expressed his gratitude to the Creator and wrote, 'Alhamdulillah!'

Abrar Fayyaz also wrote, "People who were killed and tortured at the hands of Chhatra League day after day like Abrar Fahad got real justice for the first time. How can the amount of curses accumulated by hundreds of innocent students in so many years go to waste!'


Meanwhile, in the notification issued banning Chhatra League, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that in various periods after the independence of Bangladesh, especially during the last 15 years of dictatorial rule, Bangladesh Chhatra League, the sister organization of Bangladesh Awami League, has been involved in various public security issues including murder, torture, oppression in public rooms, trading of seats in dormitories, tendering, rape and sexual harassment. was involved in disruptive activities and the related documentary information has been published in all the major media of the country and the guilt of the leaders and workers of the organization has also been proved in court in some terrorist incidents.

It further states that since 15 July 2024, during the anti-discrimination student movement, Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders and activists have killed hundreds of innocent students and persons and endangered the lives of many more people by carrying out frenzied and reckless armed attacks on the protesting students and general public, and since the government has enough There is evidence that even after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, Bangladesh Chhatra League has been involved in conspiratorial, destructive and provocative activities against the state and various terrorist activities.

Promulgating the decision to ban with immediate effect, the Government, under the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 18 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2009, has banned Bangladesh Awami League's fraternal organization 'Bangladesh Chhatra League' and the said Act. In Schedule-II, the student organization named 'Bangladesh Chhatra League' has been listed as a banned entity. It will be effective immediately.
