According to Standing Order on Disaster (SOD) district administrators of coastal districts have taken extensive preparations. Officials of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief said that on Wednesday, the District Administrators held an emergency meeting of the Disaster Management Committee in their own conference room.
Medical teams have been formed and CPP and Red Crescent volunteers have been kept ready in advance of the cyclone.
Also, all the activities that need to be taken in advance to deal with the cyclone have been taken. The upazila administration has already been given necessary directions to be ready to deal with any situation related to the cyclone.
According to the information of the Meteorological Department, Cyclone 'Dana', which is located in East Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, is moving further west-northwestward and concentrated in the same area. It may move further west-northwestward and intensify.
Maximum sustained wind speed is 62 km/h within 54 km of the cyclone center, increasing to 88 km/h in gusty or gusty forms. The sea is very rough in the vicinity of the cyclone center.
